Research On Minimalism In Painting

The idea of minimalism was born in the 1960s.In the field of art,minimalism has exerted a wide influence on architectural design,decoration design,fashion design,painting,sculpture and other creative activities.It has always been one of the important aesthetic ideals of Chinese traditional literati painting to seek simplicity in complexity and to plan white as black.Since the 1980s,minimalism has often appeared in the paintings of some fine brush painters,and has become the painting form pursued by the author.This paper takes the minimalist form painting as the breakthrough point,sorts out the basic course of its development,analyzes the main characteristics of the minimalist form in Traditional Chinese painting,and emphatically describes its influence on the author’s graduation creation.The main body of the article includes three parts.The first part introduces the style characteristics of minimalism,focusing on the embodiment of minimalism in western painting creation.The second part discusses the minimalism concept under the Background of Chinese culture,taking Chinese literati painting and Meticulous brush painting as an example.The third part discusses the influence of minimalist aesthetic meaning on the author’s graduation creation,including the perception of the main atmosphere of the picture and the choice of theme before creation,the setting of minimalist composition and the use of monotone in creation,and the new understanding after reflection and practice of the whole picture after creation.
