| This paper takes Wang Renhua’s nostalgic figure paintings as the subject of study.Based mainly on the available literature and photographic materials,as well as the author’s interview with Wang Renhua,this paper is summarized and organized to discuss the linguistic characteristics and aesthetic connotations of Wang Renhua’s nostalgic style figure paintings as authentically and accurately as possible.Through combing the characteristics,evolutionary process and causes of Wang Renhua’s painting style,the article attempts to find the relationship between her aesthetic thought,the formation of her brush and ink language,her personal life encounters and her painting practice.The article analyzes Wang Renhua’s nostalgic style of brush painting from four aspects,including the evolution of painting language,artistic characteristics,causes of style,and revelation.The introductory section introduces the source of the research,the significance and innovation of the research,the current status of the research and the research methodology.The main text is divided into four chapters:The first chapter illustrates the evolution of Wang Renhua’s nostalgic style through the introduction of her personal artistic background and the comparative analysis of her painting styles in different periods.Chapter 2 analyzes Wang Renhua’s nostalgic moods,calligraphy,and the use of ink and light in her figure paintings,and analyzes her expressive techniques such as picture composition,mood construction,and color layering.The third chapter explores the causes of Wang Renhua’s nostalgic painting style from two aspects,namely,the pursuit of inner self-expression and the influence of Balthhus aesthetic thought.The final chapter illustrates the implications of Wang Renhua’s artistic achievements for contemporary brush painting and women’s painting. |
