A Report On The Translation Of Business Model

Simultaneous interpreting is widely used in international conferences due to its efficiency and directness of communication.The report selects the 7th session of the Sub-Committee on Implementation of IMO Instruments(III)as the source text to analyze the output of the simulated interpreting practice against the actual interpreting output of a professional interpreter at the International Maritime Organization.Three types of problem triggers are found in the author’s simultaneous interpreting,the source text,the interpreter factor and the device factor.At the same time,strategies to handle these problem triggers are discussed.In terms of problems in relation to the source text,techniques such as repetition,conversion and omission might be adopted to reduce output pressure caused by the speed and high density of the information content.For interpreter-related issues,expanding encyclopedic knowledge and reducing stress through techniques such as segmentation can be possible solutions.To manage problems triggered by the device,proactive use of referencing information and prediction are suggested so that a sense of distance caused by remote meetings could be lessened.The report also involves the work of the International Maritime Organization,which could increase and the understanding of maritime terms and content and provide useful reference for related interpreting practice.
