Deng Zhimo,a literati in the late Ming Dynasty,created a total of five Zheng Qi novels,including Flowers and birds,mountains and rivers,Wind and moon,Male prostitutes and prostitutes,vegetables and fruits,all of which adopted a unified plot frame and adopted dialogue to form the whole novel through the textual structure of contending with each other.Among them,there are seven single drama,four of which are embedded in Flowers and Birds Competing for Strange Things: Qin Louxiao Inviting the Phoenix,Tang Yuan Drum Urging flowers,Seeing wild geese Recalling people,and Folding plum to meet Courier;Male prostitutes and prostitutes embedded in two: You Wang Ju feng fun,Longyang Jun Cry fish solid pet;Wind and moon in the rear attached a brothel visit prostitute.This distinctive style has attracted the attention of many scholars in the modern academic circle,but there are still a lot of neglect in the study of these five novels.This paper takes Deng Zhimo’s novel and its drama as the research object,investigates the author and version of the novel,probes into the preface,illustrations,self-notes and the musical style,content theme and artistic characteristics of the drama,in order to make up for the deficiency of the existing research.This paper is divided into four parts,namely introduction and three chapters.In the first chapter,the authors of the series of Zheng Qi novels are examined,and the research object of this paper is defined.It is clear that among the seven novels,"Plum and Snow" and "tea and wine" are not written by Deng Zhimo.It also makes an overall investigation on the appearance and spread of deng Zhimo’s five novels.The five novels are divided into three systems: the Ming Tuikuitang edition,the Ming Chunyu edition and the Edo copy.Chun Yu Tang edition in the hands of different collectors in China,Chuiqing Tang edition is far to Japan,The Japanese Edo copy "Tong Wan Contention for Qi" is based on the chuiqing tang edition,by the Japanese scholar Lin Luoshan point.The second chapter mainly explores the prologue,illustrations and self-notes of Deng Zhimo’s novels.The first is the investigation of the preface of Zhengqi’s novels.Preface author and Deng Zhimo belong to jianyang yu shu Fang mostly,form a creation collective.The preface also reflects the continuity of his novels as a series of works,the social function of satirizing the world,and the aesthetic taste of the extraordinary.The second part is the study of the layout and the graphic relationship of the illustrations in Zhengqi’s novels.The illustration style shows a tendency of blending fine and coarse.The graphic relationship between the text and the illustrations in Zhengqi’s novels can be divided into three types:graphic and text combination,graphic and text difference and graphic and text separation.The last part is the exploration of the self-notes in the novel.The self-annotations of Deng Zhimo’s novels are influenced by the self-annotations of popular novels in Ming and Qing Dynasties.The content of self-annotations can be divided into two categories: one is the annotation of famous objects,pronunciations,places and poems;the other is the annotation of the names of the scriptures,suggestive signs and medicines;the second kind is characteristic,which can enrich the meaning of the text and help to shape the characters.Chapter three explores seven plays in Deng Zhimo’s novels.Firstly,seven styles of Deng Zhimo’s drama are analyzed,which should belong to southern drama.Secondly,it analyzes the contents of deng Zhimo’s seven plays,including the criticism of fighting and indulgeing in lust,and the pursuit of harmony and emotion.Finally,explore the artistic characteristics of drama,drama to real people and things as the theme,the use of pairs of opposite artistic elements,showing a elegant and beautiful poetic conception.As a part of the novel,drama not only harmoniously integrates with the content of the novel,but also presents different artistic characteristics from the novel.
