Research On Wuxi Trade Association After The War (1945-1949)

Wuxi is a well-known industrial city in modern China.Correspondingly,the industrial and commercial groups in the period of the Republic of China were relatively developed.After the victory of the Anti Japanese War,the Kuomintang authorities reorganized and reorganized the trade organizations in Wuxi in order to strengthen the control of social organizations.After 1945,in order to prepare for the civil war,the Kuomintang regime strengthened the oppression of national industry and commerce,which led to the difficult development of Wuxi industry and Commerce during this period.Although the external environment is relatively unfavorable,or even gradually getting worse,in order to maintain the survival and development of local industry and commerce,Wuxi industry and commerce organizations still work hard,give full play to their functions,keep warm with the chamber of Commerce,actively deal with the government authorities and trade unions,and strive to achieve a balance between all parties.The attitude towards the government has changed from the initial active cooperation and assistance in the sorting and reorganization of the government to the subsequent task of shirking and opposing apportionment,and then to the final complete abandonment of the Kuomintang regime,the formation of industrial and commercial self-defense groups to protect factories and cities,and welcome the people’s Liberation army into cities.The attitude of industrial and commercial associations towards the Kuomintang regime has changed greatly.
