In the 21 st century,the global economy is booming,the employment rate of women has generally increased.Women’s leadership is growing faster and faster.More and more women pay attention to career development,they want to get promotion opportunities in the workplace and continue to climb to the top of their careers.However,in nowadays society,women face tangible or intangible obstacles and bottlenecks in the process of career development,which is extremely unfavorable for women to play their role and realize their own value in the workplace.Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the invisible rules encountered by women in workplace and to propose solutions to help women overcome these stumbling blocks,which can promote the balanced and stable development of their careers.In order to reveal the invisible rules and prejudices that hinder women’s career development and provide some suggestions for changing the status quo for women who are disadvantaged in the workplace,the translator chose the book: The Invisible Rules: What Really Holding Women Back in Business — and How to Fix It.The translator translated Chapters from Five to Eight.The contents of the four chapters are CAPS(Credentials,Adaptability,Profile,Support),which mainly introduce how women in the workplace get promotion opportunities to promote their career development through CAPS.This translation report is divided into four parts.The first part introduces the translation task,including the background knowledge of the translation task;The second part is an introduction to the translation procedure,including preparation for translation,translation process and translation proofreading;The third part is case analysis,which analyzes the characteristics of the text at the level of lexicon,syntax and discourse,and lists the corresponding representative cases,for example,combined with the characteristics of the sentence,the translator used the translation skill of extension of word meaning.The fourth part is the summary of translation task,which summarizes the translator’s translation experience and shortcomings,and reflects on them.Through the translation practice,the translator have realized that it is difficult to become a qualified translator.It is necessary for translators to master the theoretical knowledge of translation,enhance the ability of translation,expand the knowledge and improve the professional quality.
