Mining And Representation Of Characterization In Character Documentation

As an important part of the media ecosystem and as a form of figurative communication,the documentary has a clear role in the cultural chain.Character documentary has always occupied an important place in the documentary genre.The development of new media in the era of all-media has brought about a lot of challenges as well as vitality,and the character documentary has become an urgent issue to be studied in terms of how to express the inner world of the characters and their distinctive character traits on a deeper level,so as to form a unique artistic value of the film and win the attention of the public.Characterisation refers to the inherent,intrinsic and unique qualities of the characters themselves.It is closely related to the character’s upbringing,the way he or she treats others,and the values he or she holds for work and life.Character traits determine the basic characteristics of an individual’s behaviour and are an important part of personality.In other words,by exploring the most basic element of a character,characterisation,it is possible to reflect the root characteristics of a character in a small way,thus better reflecting the value attributes conveyed by a character documentary.Therefore,it is of great theoretical significance and practical value to study the characteristics of characterisation in documentaries.This paper takes the excavation of characterization in character documentary as the research object,and analyses it in the context of the graduation work "Seeing".The first chapter is the introduction,which is about the background and origin of the study,the definition of relevant concepts,the current situation of the study,the value and significance of the study and the research method.The second chapter describes the selection of characters,the establishment of typical characters and the subjective initiative of the creator,and the exploration of the typical character traits of the characters in the pre-production period.Chapter 3 analyses the performance of audiovisual language and characterization in terms of picture language,sound language and the arrangement of camera sequences in post-production.The fourth chapter analyses the prominence of narrative strategy and characterization in terms of narrative space,narrative style and narrative perspective.The concluding section summarises some of the main points of this study and elaborates on the practical significance of the excavation and expression of characterization in character documentary,with a view to providing reference and reference for the creation techniques of character documentary.
