| The source text of this E-C translation report is excerpted from a book named Automated Driving and Driver Assistance Systems,written by Tom Denton and published by Routledge in 2019.The selected text,an introduction to automated driving technologies and terms,is of great use for the general public and professionals.Generally speaking,the source text,Chapter Four of Automated Driving and Driver Assistance Systems,falls into the informative text type,so the most important purpose of this translation project is to accurately pass on information about automated driving technologies.For this reason,the translation project is carried out under the guidance of Functional Equivalence Theory.Under the guidance of Functional Equivalence Theory,the translator adopted different translation methods for different problems in the source text to achieve functional equivalence between the target text and the source text as much as possible.This translation report described the overall process of the translation project,and analyzed the key cases in the translation process mainly at two levels: lexical and syntactic,aiming to supplement the translation of scientific and technical texts with parallel texts and to provide some references for future translation research. |
