Against the backdrop of globalization,an increasing number of colleges have launched their featured courses on MOOCs,which articulates a call for the translation of course scripts.However,there have been lacunae on the translation of MOOCs’ scripts in the translation filed.Real estate industry is the pillar industry in national economy,which facilitates the sustainable development of relevant sectors,and improves financial stability and livelihood.Accordingly,this study,by taking as a case study the Chinese-English translation of Real Estate Economics,intends to unveil and analyze the major issues and problems that arise in the translation embedded within the framework of translation compensation strategies in combination with the paradigm of informative texts.Approaching from a four-dimension perspective,namely,cultural compensation,grammatical compensation,semantic translation and aesthetic compensation,the author identifies effective translation strategies with an intention to yield a quality rendering.In terms of grammar,they are tense conversion,voice conversion,addition;in terms of semantics,they are negation,domestication,explicitation;in terms of culture,they are paraphrase,annotation,in terms of aesthetics,they are simplicity,rhythm,consistent stylistic and rhetoric devices.Notably,some texts are mixed with several compensation strategies,which means,we should change it as the case may be.It is also expected that this study could shed some light on the application of compensation strategy to the translation of informative text and Chinese-English translations.
