It is well known that climate change has had a major impact on ecosystems around the world. However, its impact on social and economic systems is also profound.Global climate change has posed many risks and challenges,so economic experts call for better coordination and faster action to tackle with these risks. This interpreting practice report was based on the “2021 Green Swan Conference”.The theme of the conference mainly involved how central banks and financial sectors of various countries develop feasible solutions to address the economic and social impacts brought by climate change. In the practice of simulative interpreting, the author has encountered two major problems. One is to deal with phrases, especially prepositional phrases, because prepositions are often polysemous, which makes it difficult for the author to translate the exact meaning in a short time. The second is to cope with the long and difficult sentences and the active and passive voice, namely, the pause position of the long sentences, the sentence structure of the difficult sentences and the exchange between the passive voice and active voice.Under the guidance of Chomsky’s Transformational Generative Grammar theory, the author records improved methods of these questions with detail, which is to follow the theory’s Transformational rules to conduct addition, omission and conversion;to divide sense groups correctly and then rearrange them as needed to output a smooth translation;to flexibly change the sentence structure, according to the Chomsky’s Transformational Generate Grammar, the theory of surface structure and deep structure of the sentence,by transforming the surface structure into the deep structure of the source language, and then into the surface structure of the target language,so as to form the target language in line with the original meaning. This thesis analyzes the difficult problems encountered in the practice of simulative interpreting, and proposes corresponding solutions, including the appropriate addition, omission and conversion of phrases in accordance with the Transformational rules of the theory;rearrangement of the sense group, restructuring of the sentence, and exchange active and passive voice by figuring out the surface structure and the deep structure according to Chomsky’s Transformational Generative Grammar theory. In practice, such flexible treatment can not only skillfully arrange the translation to make it more fluent, but also reduce the workload of the interpreter, because the proper processing of these problems can indeed help the interpreter to gain time and relieve pressure. The author believes that the theory of Transformational Generative Grammar can truly serve interpreters well and achieve ideal translation results and expects to provide some reference for the future interpreting practice.
