| As a precious resource,intangible cultural heritage is an ancient and living history of country.Guizhou,as a province inhabited by ethnic groups,is a living fossil of China’s unique ethnic culture with various cultural heritages.Under the background of cultural globalization,as exchanges between China and other countries have been developed greatly,the translation of intangible cultural heritages is also an important way to show rich connotation and soft power of Chinese culture.So how to overcome translation difficulties and effectively promote the process of intangible cultural heritage publicity is an important problem to be solved.This report takes the second section of the sixth chapter of The Research on Intangible Heritage of Guiyang City from Perspective of Big Data as source text,which proposes to use big data technology to integrate intangible cultural heritage resource of Buyi ethnic group and extend its value on the basis of current development situation of Buyi traditional architecture,festivals and customs,wine-brewing culture and clothing.Guided by Newmark’s Communicative translation theory,this dissertation explores the methods of Chinese-English translation from three aspects.Based on the translation practice,the following conclusions are drawn: First,on language level,addition is mainly used to manifest the implicit logic of source text in order to change the language differences between English and Chinese and enhance the logical connection of the target language.In view of the potential impact of semantic ambiguity of the original text on the translation,adaption is mainly used to make the target language conform to the context,clear and smooth;Second,on cultural level,free translation with annotation,paraphrase with annotation,transliteration with annotation are used to translate the cultural-loaded words to make readers understand the rich cultural connotations behind.Finally,on communicative level,free translation and addition are mainly used to make the translation conform to the aesthetic habits of the target language readers,highlighting the core information to facilitate the target language readers to grasp important information.The translation practice can deepen the understanding about the theory.Furthermore,it can help target language readers understand the unique culture of Buyi ethnic group and is of great significance to showing target language readers the efforts made in the protection of intangible cultural heritages in China,providing references for the work abroad. |
