| 1.At present,what methods do Grade Seven English teachers mainly use to cultivate students’Guided by the transfer theory,constructivism theory and Schumann’s acculturation model,this study adopts classroom observation,questionnaire and interview methods,and takes the current Grade Seven English textbook of People Education Press(PEP)as the main research material,the primary study object is teachers and students in junior high school.It studies the following three questions:cultural awareness?2.What are the main problems in the cultivation of cultural awareness in Grade Seven English teaching and how should these problems be solved?By analyzing the results of quantitative and qualitative research data,this study finds: Firstly,teachers use a variety of methods to cultivate students’ cultural awareness,such as watching videos and pictures,oral presentation,students sharing and the teacher extensions,holding competitions,brainstorming,group discussion,combining hot news and comprehensive materials.Secondly,there are 12 problems from 4 dimensions including teachers,students,schools and other factors in the cultivation of cultural3.Does the cultural awareness level of the current Grade Seven students meet the tertiary objective in core competencies of the Compulsory Education English Curriculum Standard(2022 version)?According to the English Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education(2022version)core competencies are the concentrated embodiment of the value of educating people in the curriculum.Meanwhile,as one of the four dimensions of core competencies,the connotation of cultural awareness is the understanding of Chinese and foreign cultures and appreciation of excellent cultures,namely cross-cultural cognition,attitude and behavior choices displayed by students in the new era.The cultivation of cultural awareness helps students enhance their feelings of home and country and the sense of community with a shared future for mankind,cultivate their character,enhance their civilization and social responsibility.awareness in Grade Seven English teaching.Therefore,the study puts forward four dimensional solutions to these four dimensional problems.In the dimension of teachers,teachers should change their thinking,improve themselves,set an example and innovate teaching methods.In the dimension of students,students should enhance their own awareness,broaden the way to contact other cultures and attach importance to Chinese culture.In the school dimension,schools can organize cultural activities and attach importance to the training of teachers’ cultural awareness.In the dimension of other factors,schools,society and teachers need to cooperate with each other and make progress together.Thirdly,at present,the level of cultural awareness of students in Grade Seven meet the tertiary objective in core competencies of the Compulsory Education English Curriculum Standard(2022 version),but there are differences in different dimensions. |
