A Study Of WangShu’s Regular Script

Wang Shu as a famous calligrapher in the early Qing Dynasty,his research,appreciation,calligraphy and other aspects are extraordinary attainments.At present,the academic research on Wang Shu mostly focuses on his calligraphy thoughts and the art of seal and official script,while the research on Wang Shu’s regular script is scattered and not comprehensive enough.Therefore,based on previous studies,the author comprehensively discusses the artistic expression and artistic style of the regular script of Wang Shu,from the three aspects of Wang Shu’s life and learning process,copying and creation of the regular script,and different types and characteristics of the regular script.The first part introduces Wang Shu’s life and learning process.Wang Shu’s life can be divided into three stages:the first stage is his early learning stage;The second stage was the middle learning stage during his 14 years as an official in middle age.Because he was well known for his good handwriting,Wang Shu had many friends,from whom he learned and exchanged inscriptions.The third stage is the late peak stage of Wang Shu,when his calligraphy reached the peak of art and left many mature calligraphy works.The second part introduces the copying and creation of Wang Shu’s regular script,introduces the main calligraphers of Wang Shu’s copying;The third part introduces the different types and characteristics of Wang Shu’s regular script,big,medium and small,respectively presented different styles;The fourth part introduces the influence of Wang Shu’s regular script on the author from the two parts of book learning thought and copying creation.
