In the era of rapid economic development,the living environment and social concept have undergone great changes with the past,and the inheritance and development of traditional minority music culture is faced with many difficulties.As a minority graduate student in the direction of vocal music performance,the author has an unshirkable responsibility for the inheritance and innovation of this folk music.The author hopes to combine it with the modern stage performance art through the analysis of the traditional music.Make it become a music art with the characteristics of The Times and without losing the characteristics of the minority style.This paper expounds and analyzes the language characteristics,singing characteristics,tone and structure characteristics,and understands the various characteristics of the Miao love songs in western Hunan.Taking "Miao Song on the River" as an example,the paper analyzes and studies the works from the aspects of language,emotion,performance and so on,combined with their own practice in stage performance,the singing practice of the works "Miao Song on the River" is multi-direction and multi-dimensional theory.Through the analysis of this work,the author can draw inferno from one example and improve the ability of grasping the minority music works.It can also provide theoretical reference for the future singing of the Miao love songs in western Hunan,and promote the stage of the Miao love songs in western Hunan,to enrich and develop China’s modern ethnic music culture.
