Abstract/Summary:
Edward Hopper is one of the most representative artists in the field of American realistic painting in the 20 th century. His painting pays more attention to American architecture and houses. His painting language not only continues the composition rules of traditional painting, but also reconstructs his painting order with a new perspective and modern creation concept.Hopper paints not only "the texture of America," but also the texture of all modern cities with a prophetic touch. The core of this paper is the construction of the sense of order in Edward Hopper’s painting language, which is mainly elaborated from four parts: the first chapter mainly explores the construction of the sense of order in Hopper’s painting concept, and combs the continuity of Hopper’s creative concept and the sense of internal logic in his artistic creation in each stage of his artistic development. The second chapter is a study on the modeling rules of light sense in Hopper’s picture, exploring the sense of structural order manifested by the use of light and shadow, light and color and the abstract expression of light. The third chapter elaborates the spatial image of his works and interprets the spatial construction order of Hopper’s paintings. The last chapter mainly introduces the inspiration of Edward Hopper to the author’s creation, and expounds the influence of Hopper’s self-constructive expression in the author’s creation practice.
