| This interpreting practice report is a summary of the practice of the Simulated Consecutive Interpreting of Committee Members’ Speeches on the Fifth Session of the12 th CPPCC of Xiangxi Tujia & Miao Autonomous Prefecture.The first and second parts are about the descriptions of interpretation process and project which elaborate the pre-interpreting analysis and preparation and carry out the text analysis and pre-interpretation preparation of the interpretation materials.The third part introduces the research overview of the Interpretive Theory which serves as the interpreting guiding principle of this simulated Chinese-to-English consecutive interpretation.That is,the introduction of the main points of Interpretative Theory,the introduction of some main concepts and the general guiding significance of Interpretative Theory to interpretation.The fourth and fifth parts are the focus of the practice report,analyzing difficult and key points of interpretation in simulated conference by using the Interpretive theory and then give a detailed interpretation of typical cases in the process of simulated interpreting.The value of this research can be attributed to the use of the Interpretive Theory in the analysis of communication practice to successfully interpret the source language information into the corresponding target language based on the perspective of comprehension,deverbalization and reformulation so as to achieve the goal of accurately expressing the original language.Through the post-reflection on the entire interpretation practice process and translation results,the author believes that with the lack of the suitable on-site interpretation opportunities,simulated-conference training can also provide an effective and proper way for MTI student interpreters to improve their interpretation capabilities and skills in interpreting political texts and speeches. |
