| Vocabulary is the building material that makes up the language,it is juxtaposed with speech and grammar,being three main elements of the language.Among them,idioms are an important part of vocabulary:set phrases,proverbs,commonly used phrases,allegorical sayings,etc.all not only reflect the cultural characteristics of each country,but also the similarities and differences between cultures.Since ancient times,humans and animals have coexisted together.In the history of human civilization,people always observe the animal’s appearance,behavior,social structure and relationship with people,on the basis of which the images of animals are culturaly imagined and solidified.People turning certain animals into objects of worship and auspicious symbols,taking a distant attitude towards certain animals,treating certain animals as vectors of evil.As a result,most cultures of the world like to refer to people,things,social phenomena,etc.through animal images,and there are a lot of animal-related idioms.Idioms with animals has a rich expression in both Chinese and Russian languages,although the meaning of animals images has something in common(such as "fox" and "wolf"images).However,due to the different factors of China and Russia in the whole history,geography,religion and national psychology,the linguistic and cultural significance of animals images still has its own characteristics.An in-depth understanding of these characteristics and related differences can help enhance intercultural communication between our two countries.More importantly,this is an important part of second-language vocabulary acquisition.Therefore,teachers of international Chinese/Russian language should fully understand the main similarities and differences between the learner’s mother language and the target language in context of animals images.At the same time,we need to make maximum use of the similarities that exist objectively.In addition,the characteristics and framefork of idiom’s usage context should be fully implemented.Only this way we can reasonably apply related knowledge points in teaching,improve learners’ interest,and avoid a lot of errors in semantic understanding and usage of related idioms.This will increase learners’ interest and avoid misunderstandings in the semantic understanding and usage of the relevant familiar semantics.This paper takes the teaching Chinese idioms with birds to the Russian learners as the key object,and focuses on the study of birds images as an important part of Chinese and Russian phraseology,giving it comparative reseach and also research in the field of its current acqusition by learners in the service of teaching Chinese language to Russians.Chapter One provides a summary of the existing researches on Chinese idioms with animals,including birds,defines the concept of"phraseology," and explains the source of the corpus used in this study.Chapter Two summarizes the Chinese and Russian idioms with birds based on relevant corpus includes 150 Chinese idioms and 144 Russian idioms,and discusses their main similarities and differences.Chapter Three investigates the advanced Russian learners of Chinese language using excercise-based questionnaire designed with the re-screened corpus,detects the main errors and analyzes its main causes.Chapter Four analyzes existing Chinese language vocabulary/phraseology teaching materials using in Russia,their characteristics and deficiencies,and summarizes situation with the teaching of Chinese animal phraseology in Russia;based on this,some suggestions are put forward on the improvement of teaching Chinese animal idioms to Russian learners and preparation of the related teaching materials.The main results and shortcomings of this study are summarized in the Conclusion. |
