This is an English-Chinese simultaneous interpreting practice report based on the Science in 5 of WHO,aiming to explore the difficulties and methods of English-Chinese simultaneous interpreting in the medical field.Although this is a science popularization program,it involves a lot of medical expertise and complex sentence structure, which undoubtedly increases the pressure of simultaneous interpreting.Based on the problems in practice, the interpreter proposes such methods as sentence segmenting, chunking and fuzzification to reduce the pressure on interpreter’s memory and the pressure of bilingual transformation, improving the timeliness of simultaneous interpreting and avoiding omission;the interpreter proposes the method of complementing and explicitness to clarify the meaning of the target language and to better convey scientific knowledge. Finally, the interpreter summarizes this practice, hoping to apply these methods in future tasks to improve interpreting skills, and hoping to provide interpreters with methods for reference.
