| With the popularity of Chinese language in various countries around the world,teaching Chinese as a foreign language has started to receive a lot of attention,and teaching Chinese characters as a part of Chinese language teaching has also developed very rapidly.Many experts and scholars have begun to pay attention to the teaching of Chinese characters to foreigners,focusing mainly on the selection of teaching methods,motivating students and obtaining good teaching results.Modern Chinese character morphology is of great importance for teaching Chinese characters to foreigners.This paper takes Wang Ning’s theory of Chinese character morphology as the starting point,and collates and counts the 2905 Chinese characters and their phonetic components in the Chinese Proficiency Vocabulary and Chinese Character Grades Syllabus(the Syllabus).The statistical analysis shows that the proportion of Chinese characters containing phonetic components is relatively high.Therefore,it is feasible and meaningful to use the phonetic components to help students master the pronunciation of Chinese characters.Two questionnaires were designed for foreign Chinese teachers and international students.The analysis shows that some teachers do not have a thorough understanding of the phonetic components,while most international students have established a "morphophonetic awareness" of Chinese characters when they first learn Chinese characters,but it is still difficult for them to accurately identify the phonetic components in Chinese characters,so teachers should help students to accurately find the phonetic components when teaching.Based on the results of the above survey and analysis,it is important to find better strategies for teaching Chinese characters to foreign students and to further explore new directions for teaching Chinese characters with phonetic components.Teachers of Chinese as a foreign language should be flexible in changing their teaching methods for teaching different functional parts of Chinese characters;teachers of Chinese as a foreign language should also focus on teaching students with different Chinese language levels according to their abilities.Using the theory of Chinese character conformation in teaching Chinese characters to foreign students can help students establish the system of meaning and sound of Chinese characters,master the rules of Chinese characters,and make Chinese character learning more interesting,thus improving the efficiency of students’ Chinese character learning. |
