Tan Dun,a famous musician,was invited to visit the Mogao Grottoes of Dunhuang.In the face of colorful murals and spectacular performance scenes,he decided to express the murals with music,tell the story of Dunhuang with sound,and create "Dunhuang-Ode to Compassion".The fifth movement "Heart Sutra" of "Dunhuang · Song of Mercy" sung by Gong Linna combines Dunhuang ancient music and western symphony,which is music spanning time and space.Gong Linna is a very personalized artist and singer.Her singing has changed the singing style of Chinese traditional folk songs,reflected the thinking and exploration of the direction of music development,and played a very important role in the inheritance and innovation of folk songs.Gong Linna and her husband Lao Luo are the founders of "Chinese New Art Music".Their main idea is not to stick to the traditional singing mode of "one tune for one thousand people" in the singing method,but to flexibly use the singing styles of different genres of Chinese operas and the rich and colorful singing methods of local folk songs on the basis of carefully feeling the music works,and combine the singer’s own voice conditions,It can express the true and natural sound that fits the connotation and artistic conception of music works,which has certain reference value for the current vocal music singing and teaching.
