The aria I want to live in a Dream is one of the canto in the opera Romeo and Juliet.The former sages’ research on the opera Romeo and Juliet mainly focused on the musical image,musical aesthetics and characterization of the heroine Juliet.Although some scholars have paid attention to the singing style of the aria I want to live in a Dream in the opera Romeo and Juliet,few scholars analyze the aria I want to live in a Dream by taking the singing style of many singers as an example and using the method of comparative study.In this paper,the aria I want to live in a Dream as the research object,using the method of contrastive research,example analysis,synchronic research and literature interpretation,etc.From the perspective of intonation,rhythm,breath,lyrics,emotion,performance,professionalism,singing state,the Russian soprano--Anna Netrebko,Italian soprano--Rosa Feola and German soprano--Diana A comparative study on the singing styles of the aria I want to live in a Dreamsung by three Damrau singers.Through research,it is found that three sopranos are very successful in singing the aria I want to live in a Dream.The three singers have achieved accurate play of key elements such as intonation,rhythm,breath and lyrics,but they have their own characteristics in emotion,performance,professional quality and singing state elements,all reflecting their own unique charm.Russian singer Anna Netrebko’s voice is rich and mellow.In the singing process,it gives people a more graceful feeling of hearing.Italian singer Rosa Feola’s body movements are more rich,bringing visual enjoyment to people.German singer Diana Damrau is full of breath,and the fluidity of music is more obvious when she sings.As learners of the same major,when we sing similar operas,they have something in common that we should master the basic elements of singing.At the same time,we should make use of our own advantages to give full play to our own singing characteristics,so that opera singing has its own personal characteristics.In a word,for the same vocal music learners as the author,in the singing process to highlight its advantages,develop strengths and avoid weaknesses,it is also a best way.At the same time,encourage the late ordinary singer,do not be afraid of classic,but to courageously heterosexual,the pursuit of self,it is also possible to develop strengths and avoid weaknesses.Its significance is to provide a theoretical basis for the study of similar operas,and to provide a practical example for individual singers in singing the aria I want to live in a Dream.
