| In today’s era,cultural factors,which are an important part of soft power,have been successfully used by many countries as an important instrument to promote their national image to the world.Entering the 21 st century,China has made considerable progress in many fields,so it is natural to further improve its status on the international stage,that why this country is also actively promoting its cultural soft power in the world.Since this concept was first formally proposed in the report of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,cultural soft power has become one of the important pillars in the strategy of realizing the "Chinese Dream" and "the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation".In the process of building a country with a strong socialist culture,China particularly emphasizes the important role of culture in spreading its own image and charm,and actively implements the promotion of its culture,ideas and values to many countries in the world.Since ancient times,China and Vietnam have had a long and special relationship.Vietnam,which has a long cultural relationship with China,is both a neighboring country and a part of Southeast Asia,which China attaches special importance to.Therefore,Vietnam is an important target of China’s cultural soft power strategy.By taking the historical background of China-Vietnam cultural origin and the status of cultural factors in China-Vietnam relations as a premise,this paper clarifies the three main drivers of China’s promotion of its cultural soft power in Vietnam,including economy,politics and security,culture and values.It also involves the main implementation channels of this strategy in Vietnam,including the establishment of Confucius Institutes,the strengthening of media broadcasts,the promotion of cultural products,and the exchanges and cooperation between education and culture.On this basis,this paper makes a specific assessment of the effects of China’s cultural soft power in Vietnam from the perspectives of the Vietnamese people and the government of Vietnam,in order to point out that this strategy has played an important role in improving Vietnamese people’s awareness of Chinese culture and promoting ChinaVietnam cooperation,but on the other hand,it also faces difficulties such as doubts from the Vietnamese people and vigilance from the Vietnamese government.In addition,this article also analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of China’s cultural soft power in Vietnam,and puts forward some suggestions,which are expected to make a contribution to the better development of the relationship between China and Vietnam. |
