Research On The China‘s Cultural Soft Power In Vietnam

Since the end of Cold War,with the changing of the international political situation,especially since the early 1990 s,when Joseph S.Nye put forward the "soft power" concept,countries around the world are turning their attention from "hard power"(including military,economic,etc.)to "soft power".In recent years,China hasbeen reforming and opening up in-depth development.China's rise has become a hot topic in the international political circles;causing the concern of big countries such as the United States,Japan,Russia and also other China's neighbors.It is unavoidable for other countries in the region to remain skeptical and vigilant against China,and the "China threat theory" also follows from that.Therefore,over the past decade,China has been adjusting its policy.While strengthening hard power(military,economic power,etc.),China is also focusing on soft power,and especially focusing on the "cultural soft power",and regard it as an important part of the national development strategy and objectives.China and Vietnam are friendly neighbors,connected by mountains and rivers.The political system of the two countries is the same,the development path is similar,the future fate is related;two countries also have a long cultural history,and a strategic community of common destiny.Researching the China's cultural soft power in Vietnam is very important for the development of bilateral relations.This paperstands on the perspective of Vietnam,intends to explain the connotation,features and related theories and policies of the "China typical cultural soft power" from the basic concepts of "soft power" and "cultural soft power" of Joseph Nye.The main purpose of this research is not only to understand the relevant theories and policies of China's cultural soft power,but also to discuss the background and the ways of its construction in Vietnam.In addition,through the document collection and online questionnaire,this article also tries to establish an evaluation index system for China's cultural soft power in Vietnam;through theevaluation results,fully understand the achievements and deficiencies in the construction of China's cultural soft power in Vietnam.Thus to analyze its impact on the Vietnam China relations and to further understand the limitations and prospects of Vietnam China relations,so as to promote the cooperation between two sides,promote the development of bilateral ties between Vietnam and China.Finally,this article also tries to put forward some thoughts and suggestions on the promotion of Vietnam's cultural soft power,hoping to provide some academic reference value.
