| This article takes contemporary dramatist Stan Lai as the research object,analyzes the current situation of overseas communication of his drama works,and explores the reasons why his works have achieved good communication effects overseas.Stan Lai(1954——)is one of the more distinctive theatrical followers in the Chinese speaking world.Over the past 30 years,his works have achieved good dissemination and acceptance effects both domestically and overseas.This article summarizes the current situation of the dissemination and acceptance of Stan Lai’s dramas in the United States,Singapore,Australia,and other regions,and believes that Stan Lai’s unique cultural identity and excellent quality of his works are the reasons for his good communication effects overseas.At present,the relevant research of Stan Lai in academic circles at home and abroad mainly focuses on the ideological content,artistic characteristics,domestic dissemination,and other related aspects of his dramas,while there is less research on the overseas dissemination of his dramas.This paper attempts to comb the context of overseas communication of his dramas,and analyze and explore the communication and acceptance effects of overseas communication of his dramas.This thesis is based on the theory of communication and reception in comparative literature impact studies,using textual analysis,data collection,and other methods as research methods to explore the dual cultural backgrounds of Stan Lai and his drama works,as well as the effects of overseas communication and reception of his drama works,film works,and published books,and to explore how Stan Lai relies on his own cultural background Its unique "Lai’s Drama" is formed by its artistic creativity and other abilities.This paper focuses on the specific situation of the overseas dissemination of his dramas and other works,as well as the reception and feedback of his works by Western audiences and readers,with a view to providing some reference for how to more effectively promote contemporary Chinese dramas and better go global.The full text is divided into four chapters:The first chapter provides a detailed overview of Stan Lai and his drama works,including his life and special cultural background,his representative works and domestic performances,as well as the special expressions of Chinese and Western elements in his drama.It also concludes with an analysis of his own life and the "integration" of various identities reflected in his works.The second chapter discusses the overseas dissemination of Stan Lai’s drama,including its overseas performances,the channels and methods of performance,and the dissemination of other works such as books and movies overseas.The third chapter elaborates on the overseas acceptance of Stan Lai’s dramas,examines the overseas evaluation of his dramas from three different perspectives,explores the acceptance of his books and films abroad,and analyzes the "horizon of expectations" of overseas audiences for his works.The fourth chapter discusses the cultural motivations behind the overseas acceptance of Stan Lai’s dramas,analyzes the overseas communication environment and media of Stan Lai’s works,and analyzes the experience and reflection that Stan Lai’s overseas communication provides for the subsequent "going global" path of Chinese dramas. |
