This study aims to explore the influence of the fear of positive evaluation on social anxiety, and the mechanism between the attribution method of the inner and outer dimensions and self-concept clarity. The study used the fear of positive evaluation scale(FPES),the interaction anxiousness scale(IAS),the attribution style questionnaire(ASQ),Chinese version of the internal-external dimension subscale, and self-concept clarity scale(SCCS)to measure the fear of positive evaluation, social anxiety, attribution method, and self-concept clarity.Through random sampling,620 questionnaires were distributed to several universities in Heilongjiang Province and Jiangsu Province,30 questionnaires were eliminated and 590 valid questionnaires were withdrawn. The results showed that:(1)The difference test of positive evaluative fear showed that non-only children had a higher the fear of positive evaluative than only children.Compared with the17-21 age group, participants in the 22-26 age group had a higher fear of positive assessment.(2)The difference test of social anxiety showed that the social anxiety of non-only children was more serious than that of only children;Social anxiety was more severe in the 22-26 age group than in the 17-21 age group.(3)The test of the difference in attribution methods shows that women are more negative in attribution in the internal and external dimensions than men.(4)The difference test of self-concept clarity showed that non-only children had lower the clarity of self-concept than only children.(5)Fear of positive evaluative was significantly positively correlated with social anxiety, and attribution methods were significantly negatively correlated with fear of positive evaluation and social anxiety.Self-concept clarity was significantly negatively correlated with social anxiety.(6)In the influence of positive evaluation fear on social anxiety, attribution plays a partial mediating role. The higher an individual’s fear of positive evaluation, the more negative the attribution method and the greater the social anxiety.(7)Self-concept clarity plays a moderating role in the effect of fear of positive evaluation on social anxiety. As the clarity of an individual’s self-concept increases, the predictive effect of fear of positive evaluation on social anxiety decreases.
