| Emotional eating behavior is a major public health problem affecting the physical and mental health of individuals,and female college students are a high incidence group of emotional eating behavior,and the discussion of the influencing factors of female college students’ emotional eating behavior deserves extensive the attention of researchers.Based on the generality model of stress,general strain theory and organism-environment interaction model,this study examines the influence of Perceived Stress on the emotional eating behavior of female college students,as well as the mediating effect of negative affect and the moderating effect of self-compassion.The study selected 650 female college students from three universities in Heilongjiang,Jilin and Jiangsu provinces as participants,and used the perceived Stress scale,the dutch eating behaviour questionnaire,the positive and negative affect scale and self-compassion scale for measurement,and the research conclusions were as follows:(1)The Perceived Stress level of female college students is above average.There were significant differences in perceived stress,tension and loss of control in different majors,that is,the stress perception,tension and loss of control of female college students in science and engineering were significantly higher than those of female college students in liberal arts,and there were no significant differences in stress perception,tension and loss of control among female college students in science and engineering.perceived stress,tension,and loss of control did not differ significantly in different family locations,whether they were alone,and in different grades.(2)The emotional eating level of female college students is moderate.Emotional eating differed significantly in grades,as evidenced by the fact that the level of emotional eating among female college seniors was significantly higher than that of freshmen,sophomores,and juniors.Emotional eating did not differ significantly in different family locations,whether or not they were alone,and in different majors.(3)The negative affect level of female college students is moderate.Negative affectdid not differ significantly between different family locations,whether they were alone,and in different grades,and different majors.(4)The Self-compassion level of female college students is above average.Selfcompassion,along with self-kindness,the sense of common humanity,and mindfulness,differed significantly in grades,with female seniors significantly lower than freshmen,sophomores,and juniors.In addition,there are significant differences in the sense of common humanity and self-kindness;that is,the sense of common humanity and selfkindness in liberal arts are significantly greater than those in science and engineering,but self-compassion and mindfulness are not significantly different professionally.Selfcompassion,self-kindness,the sense of common humanity,and mindfulness did not differ significantly in where they lived and whether they were alone.(5)Perceived Stress was significantly positively correlated with negative affect and emotional eating,and self-compassion was negatively correlated with Perceived Stress,negative affect and emotional eating.(6)Perceived Stress has a significant positive predictive effect on the emotional eating behavior of female college students.(7)Negative affect play a mediating effect in the influence of Perceived Stress on the emotional eating behavior of female college students.(8)Self-compassion plays a moderating role in the effect of Perceived Stress on the negative emotions of female college students,that is,the predictive effect of stress perception on the negative emotions of female college students is weaker in individuals with high self-compassion. |
