Chinese-English Translation Practice Report On "Strategic Research On Heilongjiang Historical And Cultural Resources" (Chapter 2, Sections 7 And 8

The source text of this translation practice report includes Sections 7 and 8 of Chapter II of the historical and cultural book Strategic Research on Heilongjiang’s Historical and Cultural Resources written by Guo Shumei.The source text mainly covers the 20 significant historical events in Heilongjiang and the development of its several areas.Translation practice and research on Heilongjiang’s historical and cultural texts not only supplements the limited theoretical and practical achievements in this field but also holds great significance for the international communication of Heilongjiang’s culture.On the basis of the differences between Chinese and English,this study adopts the following methods: addition,conversion and subtraction.Specifically,for cultural differences,some annotations are added;for differences in thinking patterns and language habits,the following methods are used: addition of logical connectives,conversion of word classes,change of word order,conversion between positive and negative sentences,deletion of unnecessary nouns and verbs,deletion of unnecessary modifiers and deletion of repetitive synonymous parts.It’s hoped that this report can provide some reference for the translation of texts related to Heilongjiang’s history and culture.
