| This translation practice report is selected from the second chapter of sociology article: Citizenship on the Edge: Sex / Gender / Race,A Trinity of Inequality: Wealth,Marriage,and Masculinity.It belongs to the social science category of text,in which the authors explore the definition of "American citizenship".The relationship between wealth,marriage and patriarchal society also was discussed.From the linguistic point of view,this paper is careful and rigorous in the lexical using,which involves a lot of sociological terms and background knowledge.On the social level,the thinking and research brought by the content of this paper can provide reference and help for the deep-rooted social problems in our country and even in the international community.According to the characteristics of social science texts,this paper analyzes the translation of lexicon,inanimate subject sentences and parentheses,and also studies the translation strategies of discourses,how to use different translation methods for different situations at the semantic level and the grammatical functions.Through the research of the above research,this paper sums up the translation of social science texts,hoping to enrich translation theories and apply them to practice. |
