After thinking about domestic justice in A Theory of Justice,John Rawls thought about global justice in his later years in his work The Civil Law of All.The global justice thought expounded by Rawls in the Civil Law of All is different from the domestic justice thought,so Rawls’ global justice thought has aroused wide repercussion and discussion in the academic circles at home and abroad. The research on Rawls’ global justice thought mainly starts from four parts. The first part expounds the realistic background and theoretical background of Rawls’ global justice thought. In reality,Rawls’ idea of global justice is produced under the background of world globalization, and it is based on the requirements of the reconstruction of the international order after World War II.Theoretically,Rawls’ global justice thought absorbed the thought of permanent peace in Kant’s Permanent Peace and the thought of social Contract in Rousseau’s Social Contract. The second part is to expound the theoretical content of Rawls’ global justice thought. The theoretical content of Rawls’ global justice thought includes the construction of the global justice principle and the main content of Rawls’ global justice thought.Rawls’ principle of global justice, like the principle of regional justice, originates from the process of political constructivism.Rawls believes that the subject in the process of global justice principle construction is no longer the individual, let alone the state, but the people. Here the people include two categories, namely reasonable free people and decent people. The former holds a liberal idea, while the latter adheres to a unifying idea or religion.Rawls sets two original states to choose the principle of global justice. The first original state is the original state in which reasonable free people form the principle of justice in the region;the second original state is the original state in which reasonable liberal people and decent people jointly choose the principle of global justice. And eventually form what Rawls calls a realistic utopia. The three main principles in Rawls’ global justice principle are human rights as the standard of global justice, limited aid obligation as the principle of global distribution and tolerance principle as the external principle of global justice. The global justice thought of Rawls takes human rights as the standard, and its purpose is to protect human rights in the world and prevent human evil from happening again.Decent people also deserve to be tolerated by reasonably free people because their society conforms to Rawls’ s basic human rights. In the distribution principle of global justice thought,Rawls no longer sticks to the difference principle he held in China, but regards limited aid obligation as the international distribution principle.Limited aid obligation only requires the well-organized society to help the society that is in trouble due to adverse circumstances to transform into an organized society without additional help. The third part analyzes the characteristics of Rawls’ global justice thought.Rawls’ global justice thought has three characteristics, which are the duality of realism and idealism, the unity of pluralistic value and unitary value, and the characteristics of political constructivism. The fourth part is the evaluation of Rawls’ global justice thought. The evaluation of Rawls’ global justice thought is carried out from three aspects.First, the value of Rawls’ global justice thought is analyzed, including theoretical value and practical value.Second, the limitation of Rawls’ global justice thought is analyzed.
