On The Ocean Complex In Zhang Wei’s Novel Creation

From the early 1980s,Zhang Wei always starting from the conscience of intellectuals,consciously infusing modern consciousness into the interior of "Ocean" and keep watching over the "home" deep in memory.With the conscious cultural consciousness and rational ecological concept,Zhang Wei put hope at the turn of the times in the ideal space"ocean",thinking about the consciousness of the times and values.He regards the ocean as a living subject like human beings and pondered the awareness of the times and values carried by the "ocean".The novel shows his thoughts on the road to modernity for the future of nations and human.This paper will discuss the ocean complex in Zhang Wei’s novel creation from three aspects:the origin of generation,ideological connotation and cultural stance.The first part will explore the origin of the ocean complex in Zhang Wei’s novels from his own life experience and the excavation and influence of Qilu culture,which will be discussed in the first chapter.From the life experience of the seaside in childhood and the wandering experience of the forest in his youth,explores Zhang Wei’s complex emotions about the ocean.As well as the excavation and exploration of the superior geographical features and cultural traditions of the land of Qilu in adulthood,so that Zhang Wei has a more rational understanding of "ocean",which affects the formation of ocean complex in Zhang Wei’s novel creation.The second part,which delves into the text of Zhang Wei’s novel and understands the ideological implications of the ocean complex,will be discussed in chapters two and three.The author found that Zhang Wei’s understanding of the ocean has undergone a transformation from sensibility to rationality.At the beginning of his creation,the "ocean" in his writing was a metaphorical imagination,conveying a utopian appeal,hoping that the vastness of the ocean could gather the thoughts and worries of the beginning of social change,and the mystery of the ocean could place human ideals and hopes.As the worries and anxieties revealed by the process of modernization have widened,the ocean is no longer an ideal space for hope,and it has returned to the natural world.At this time,the "ocean" in the pen is a living subject with rich connotations,and it is necessary to find ways to resist the existential crisis and break through the spiritual dilemma like human beings.The third part,which places Zhang Wei’s "ocean" in the context of the times,is a holistic observation aimed at understanding Zhang Wei’s cultural stance,which will be expanded in Chapter 4.It is mainly elaborated from two aspects,on the one hand,it explores Zhang Wei’s examination of cultural ills in the "homeland" with an introspective cultural consciousness at the time of the alternation of the old and the new.On the other hand,it is to understand Zhang Wei’s thinking about the future of mankind in the resistance crisis with a forward-looking concept of survival.The conclusion is to summarize all the above research on the ocean complex in Zhang Wei’s novel creation,discuss the enlightenment and significance of Zhang Wei’s ocean complex,and put forward expectations for future ocean writing.
