Mr.Zhang Jian is a famous entrepreneur,politician and educator in modern China.He combined the concepts of "education to save the country" and "industry to save the country",put forward the famous thesis of "father education,mother industry",and further put forward the vocational education idea that "learning must be expected to be used,and use must be suitable for the place".Zhang Jian supplemented education with industry,improved industry with education,and finally hoped to realize the desire to promote national prosperity and national independence through the development of industry and education,and he had a profound impact on the development of modern education in China.At present,society is paying more and more attention to the development of the real economy,and the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China deliberated and adopted the "14th Five-Year Plan" proposal:we must insist on focusing on the real economy for economic development.The plan emphasizes that it is necessary to maintain the basic stability of the proportion of manufacturing industry and consolidate and strengthen the foundation of the real economy,which is well in line with the educational concept proposed by Mr.Zhang Jian.The relationship between industry and education is close,the prosperity of industry is inseparable from the support of talents,and the development of education is inseparable from the economic foundation accumulated by industry.The "Zhang Jian Dream" that this old man was pursuing 120 years ago is the"Chinese Dream" that the descendants of Yanhuang fought hard to achieve 120 years later."Quest" is a documentary about Zhang Jian’s theoretical and practical exploration in the field of education,which adopts a non-linear narrative structure combining "history"and "reality",and "the process of Zhang Jian’s dictionary edited by Professor Zhou Xinguo and Mr.Zhang Shenxin" is a real event,leading to various historical stories that occurred in the process of exploring education to save the country.The creation of the documentary"Quest" took more than two years.In the past two years,I have consulted a large number of historical video materials about Zhang Jian;He analyzed Zhang Jian’s works such as"Zhang Jian Dictionary","Zhang Jian’s Footprints in Qidong","Diary of Dong Yu Dong",etc.;tracked and filmed the release of "Zhang Jian Dictionary";He visited the Haimen Zhang Jian Memorial Hall,the Qidong City Archives,the restoration site of Tonghai Reclamation and Animal Husbandry Company,the ruins of various embankment schools and the remaining villages,and interviewed university experts,local scholars and local witnesses."Realistic reproduction" of some historical events;The result is a 36-minute documentary.This paper provides a comprehensive and detailed compilation and directing elaboration of "Quest" in five parts:introduction,work overview,narrative design,audiovisual language design and creative summary,and postscript.The introductory part mainly analyzes the background and significance of the creation of "Quest",as well as the current situation of domestic and foreign literature research and related works.The first chapter provides a detailed overview of the work from three aspects:origin,theme idea and character design.The second chapter provides an in-depth demonstration of the narrative design of "Quest" from the perspective of narrative structure and narrative.Chapter 3 describes the sound and image features of The Quest.The fourth chapter is some of the problems and self-reflection I encountered in the process of creating "Quest".Different from other documentary works about Mr.Zhang Jian,this work completely presents the whole process of Mr.Zhang Jian’s educational philosophy from its inception to practice.This film innovatively focuses on the Qidong region,using Zhang Jian’s educational practice in the Qidong region-creating a school education to confirm the rationality and operability of his educational philosophy,and further explore the historical changes of these educational achievements.
