Research On The Imagery Expression Of Contemporary Ceramic Figure Sculpture

Imagery has a long history in traditional Chinese culture and is a rich cultural resource.It is an important element in the independence and uniqueness of Chinese painting and is an important expression of the spirit of traditional Chinese art.Contemporary Chinese ceramic figure sculpture also has many practical achievements of imagery expression.This paper makes a study from the following aspects:The opening chapter provides a brief analysis of the concept of ’imagery’ grounded in traditional Chinese culture like tracing its roots,arguing that the ’brush and ink’ language structure of Chinese painting can create imagery,and that the natural properties of clay glaze and fire shaped by ceramic sculpture also have imaginative language expression qualities,laying the material foundation for ceramic sculpture to create imaginative expression.The second aspect is to analyse the embodiment of imagery in contemporary Chinese ceramic sculpture,citing representative ceramic sculptures that demonstrate that imaginative modelling presents a variety of styles in contemporary ceramic sculpture.The third aspect is to experience first-hand the use of imagery in ceramic figure sculpture through my own creative practice,looking for problems and solutions that arise in the artistic act.Combined with the above research,the aim is to explore the contemporary expression of imagery sculpture,to explore a new formal language for ceramic figure sculpture,to investigate the possibilities of imagery sculpture expression in ceramic materials,and to provide the industry with the results of imagery expression in ceramic figure sculpture rich in artistic experience.
