| The original text is Security and Resilience-Community Resilience-Guidelines for Planning Recovery and Renewal.This text is a standard issued by the International Standards Organization,which mainly describes how communities and organizations start recovery and renewal from major emergencies,disasters or crises.After finished the translation,the translator makes a detailed analysis from the following aspects according to the language style and characteristics of the text.First of all,there are a lot of special interrogative words in this text.In view of this situation,the translator chooses to translate these words into nouns,interrogative pronouns and the translator also adopts the translation method of omission.Secondly,for the passive sentences appeared in the original text,the translator chooses to translate them into active sentences,semi-implicit passive sentences and subject-free sentences.Finally,there are implicit logical relationships within and between some sentences in the text.In response to this phenomenon,the translator adopts two ways to deal with it:explicit translation of logical relationships within sentences and explicit translation of logical relationships outside sentences.This report tries to provide some materials for scholars who studying international standards and provide reference for future translation studies in this field. |
