| Chen Tuan,as a famous Taoist from the Five Dynasties to the Song Dynasty,was also a master of the Book of Changes and a pioneer of Neo Confucianism,with a very important historical position.From the Song Dynasty to the Ming and Qing Dynasties,the image of Chen Tuan has great changes in historical records and folk spread,and has gone through the gradual image upgrading process from "hermit" to "sleeping fairy".Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties,the image of Chen Tuan’s "sleeping fairy" began to appear as a symbol of auspiciousness.This paper takes Chen Tuan’s image of "Sleeping Immortal" as the research object,and sorts out the shaping process and evolution of Chen Tuan’s image by sorting out the related documents of Chen Tuan since the Five Dynasties.Through combing,we can see that the image of Chen Tuan is based on certain historical facts,influenced by the background of the times and the position and purpose of the writer,and is constantly shaped and processed.Just like from the Five Dynasties to the Song Dynasty,the focus of Chen Tuan’s image changed: the hermit in the early Song Dynasty corresponded to the policy of preferential treatment of cave scholars;the identity of the “Yi Xue Master” and the development of Shao Yong’s Neo Confucianism;The impact of the rise is closely related.While Chen Tuan’s image of "Sleeping Immortal" is well-known,the image of "Sleeping Immortal" itself has also become generalized,presenting two divergences between Taoist and folk images: Taoist "Sleeping Immortals" headed by Chen Tuan They attach great importance to sleeping skills,and take the practice of sleeping skills as an important practice of their inner alchemy for health preservation;while the image of the folk "sleeping fairy" has become an adjective for the state of "longevity and happiness",and the word "sleeping fairy" has gradually developed into an auspicious connotation.Representative,and this is inseparable from the permeating influence of Taoist sleep health culture on the national psychological character,thinking mode and value concept.The stereotype and generalization of the image of "Sleeping Fairy" reflect people’s yearning and constant pursuit of ideal "life length","life attitude" and "life state". |
