Research On The Innovative Application Of Traditional Painted Pottery Geometric Decoration In Modern Ceramic Art

The emergence of painted pottery is one of the main symbols of the Neolithic period.The appearance of painted pottery patterns unveils the mystery of prehistoric life.While showing the dynamic life scene,it can also reflect the germination of aesthetic consciousness.The decorative patterns of painted pottery are rich,and its rhythmic beauty has provided continuous inspiration for artists and designers.As an important part of Neolithic art decoration,the geometric decoration of painted pottery is concise and clear from the perspective of modern design.It is the result of the primitive ancestors’ highly refining and summarizing the objective things,and reflects the extraordinary imagination and creativity of the primitive ancestors.The composition of geometric patterns of painted pottery still has considerable application value in our modern design: separate patterns,suitable patterns,continuous patterns(two-way continuous,four-way continuous).The natural beauty and rhythmic beauty shown by painted pottery patterns are of great research significance to the thinking mode and creative embodiment of modern design.The research of this paper is based on the fact that under the background of globalization,art practitioners need to draw inspiration from their own traditional culture,so as to create works with their own artistic character.And people’s aesthetic consciousness has changed,and their aesthetic demand is also increasing.Traditional culture needs to be integrated with modern people’s aesthetic interest,so as to be accepted and inherited by the public.By taking the traditional geometric painted pottery decoration as the research object,this paper studies the point,line and surface composition form of the elements in the pattern and the composition law of the pattern.By combing the existing patterns in the geometric decoration of painted pottery,this paper makes a selection,abstracts the selected patterns,deconstructs the patterns,makes them become independent units,and arranges the pattern units more flexibly,These units are constructed into new patterns.Combined with the composition techniques of modern creativity and modern ceramic materials and techniques,the geometric patterns of painted pottery are extracted,designed and re applied to create works with cultural heritage and modern aesthetic interest.
