Althusser believed that there was a "rupture" between Marx’s early and late works, that is,"epistemological rupture".Marx’s works had a transition from the ideological stage in 1845 to the scientific stage after 1845.Using Jacques Martin’s concept of question form,Althusser emphasized the importance of grasping the "nothing" of the internal frame of visual inertia, and explored the intrinsic integrity of the article and the essence of thought.Further,we get a reading method which can break the bondage of original consciousness form, namely "syndromic reading method".In the 1960 s,Althusser put forward this theory in order to defend the scientific and practical nature of Marx’s thought under the background of the prevailing dogmatism and humanitarianism.Through the deep study of the ideological connotation of "epistemological rupture" and Althusser’s in-depth study of Marx’s historical stages,we can see the profound connotation of this thought, and this rupture theory is also the basic conclusion of "theoretical anti-humanism".Through the overall combing of this thought, combined with the exploration of Marx’s thought itself,I think Marxism is a unified whole.Althusser’s thought of "epistemological rupture" has great progress, but also exposes the defects that cannot be ignored.Marx briefly explained the development of his thought from 1842 to 1845 in Preface to Critique of Political Economy. It can be seen that the study of political economy was before the "rupture" proposed by Althusser, and Marx’s treatises on historical materialism in his works from Manuscripts to Outlines to German Ideology were consistent. In fact, the formation of Marx’s philosophical thought is a process of continuous unity and development. The study of the thought of "epistemological rupture" is helpful to grasp the main context and deep meaning of Althusser’s thought, and provides a new way for us to further understand and study the development of Marx’s thought. This thesis is divided into five parts to study Althusser’s epistemological fracture theory. The first part of the introduction from the source and significance of the topic to understand Althusser to protect Marx’s thought of scientific attempts and efforts. The second part focuses on the historical background and social historical environment of "epistemological rupture".The third part introduces the "symptomatic reading method" to draw out the basic connotation and historical stages of epistemological rupture.Althusser divided Marx’s thought theory into two stages, emphasizing the opposition between ideology and science before and after Marx’s thought. The fourth part studies the relationship between epistemological rupture and theoretical anti-humanitarianism,and the fifth part evaluates Althusser’s thought of "epistemological rupture" as a whole.
