Research On Visualization Design Based On Cognitive Metaphor

The concept of metaphor comes from rhetoric,also known as metaphor and brief metaphor,which is a kind of figurative rhetoric and is used in language expression to judge,describe or explain the implicitly contained metaphorical relationship.Cognitive metaphor is a way of transferring and expressing the concept of cognitive thinking into concrete sensory expression.This process can be understood as the process of sensory symbolization of abstract cognition.become an integral part of cognitive metaphors.Visualization is the theory,method and technology of using computer graphics and modern image processing technology to transform data and information through conscious scientific transformation,and finally create visual graphics or images for display.Combining the metaphor at the cognitive level with the visual design theory can provide a certain theoretical support for the value exploration of the communication efficiency of cognitive metaphor in the visual expression level,and provide new ideas for the transformation of visualization to emotional expression in the future..While helping the visualization work to fully express the shallow information,it also conveys the deep-level perceptual level information hidden behind it to the user,making the visualization design more deeply perceptual.Based on the dismantling of cognitive metaphor and visualization,this paper uses methods such as literature research,interdisciplinary research,case study,etc.,and uses the similarity in thinking process and cognitive similarity in the field of semiotics.The cognitive transfer principle and design method of the visual design of cognitive metaphor are studied.Connect the cognitive braincognitive-world basic model with the discovery-definition-concept-designprototyping-assessment-optimization basic process of visual design through the similarity comparison principle of cognitive metaphors,and obtain a cognitive metaphor-based Visual design model.Through the mapping principle of thinking symbols of cognitive metaphor types,the mapping methods of cognitive symbols to visual symbols under four types of structure metaphor,orientation metaphor,ontology metaphor and pipeline metaphor are obtained.The research results are applied to the visualization design practice of the change of the number of party members since the 100th anniversary of the founding of the party.Through comparative experiments,it is verified that the model has the effect of conveying cognitive metaphorical information and improving the user experience of visualization works in visualization design.,and also put forward the prospect of further research on cognitive depth in the application of cognitive metaphor in visual design in the future.
