The Effect Of Adult Attachment On Conflict Resolution Strategies:a Chain Mediation Model

Four variables were selected in this study,which are Adult attachment,Self-esteem,Emotion regulation strategy and Conflict resolution strategy,and adult groups were selected as research objects by questionnaire survey.Through Experiences in Close Relationships Scale(ECR),Self-Esteem scale(SES),Emotion Regulation scale(Emotion Regulation)Questionnaire(ERQ)and Rahim Organizational Conflict Inventory-II(Romi-II)were taken in combination,and the following conclusions were obtained: 1)Adults in this survey group have good attachment security,high levels of self-esteem,and generally positive emotion regulation strategies and conflict resolution strategies.2)Demographic variables of the survey group.For gender differences,girls have significantly higher degree of attachment anxiety than boys,while boys have nearly significantly higher degree of attachment avoidance than girls.As for the age difference,individuals aged 18-23 were significantly less inclined to use collaborative strategies than those aged 24-36.There were no significant differences in adult attachment,self-esteem,emotion regulation strategies and conflict resolution strategies among the difference of origin.and the only children.For the attachment object difference,compared with the attachment object as the partner,the attachment object is other(classmates,friends,etc.)of the individual attachment avoidance degree is significantly higher;For the differences in attachment and love experience,compared with those who were not in love,those who were in love had a significantly lower tendency to use cognitive reappraisal strategies.3)Self-esteem mediates the relationship between adult attachment and conflict resolution strategies.Specifically,self-esteem completely mediates the relationship between attachment anxiety and cooperative strategies,partially mediates the relationship between attachment anxiety and dominant and compliant strategies,partially mediates the relationship between attachment avoidance and cooperative strategies,and completely mediates the relationship between attachment avoidance and compliant strategies.4)Emotional regulation strategies mediate the relationship between adult attachment and conflict resolution strategies.Specifically,cognitive reappraisal strategy completely mediates the relationship between attachment anxiety and cooperative strategies,and partially mediates the relationship between attachment anxiety and avoidance and compliance strategies.Expression inhibition strategies partially mediate between attachment anxiety and dominance strategies,avoidance strategies and compliance strategies,partially mediate between attachment avoidance and cooperation strategies,avoidance strategies and compliance strategies,and completely mediate between attachment avoidance and dominance strategies.5)Self-esteem and emotion regulation strategies have a chain mediating effect between adult attachment and conflict resolution strategies,that is,except for attachment anxiety-self-esteem-cognitive reappraisal-dominance,attachment anxiety-self-esteem-expression inhibition-collaboration and attachment avoidance-self-esteem-cognitive reappraisal-dominance,the other 13 pathways have a significant chain mediating effect.Specifically,self-esteem and cognitive reappraisal strategies were completely mediating between attachment anxiety and cooperation strategies,and between attachment avoidance and compliance strategies.Self-esteem and expression inhibition strategies completely mediate the relationship between attachment avoidance and dominance strategies.Self-esteem and cognitive reappraisal strategies partially mediate the relationship between attachment anxiety,avoidance and compliance strategies.Self-esteem and expression inhibition strategies partially mediate the relationship between attachment anxiety and dominance,avoidance and compliance strategies.Self-esteem and cognitive reappraisal strategies play a partial mediating role between attachment avoidance,cooperation and avoidance strategies.Self-esteem and expression inhibition strategies play a partial mediating role between attachment avoidance and cooperation strategies,avoidance and compliance strategies.
