| Tempera belongs to the ancient European painting genre,whose material techniques evolved and were widely used by artists since the Byzantine,Medieval and Renaissance periods.The Renaissance masters of Tempera painting such as Francesca,Uccello,Philip Libby,the Three Renaissance Masters,Jan van Eyck,Dürer,Holbein,etc.all made outstanding contributions to the development of Tempera painting.Today,influenced by the industrial revolution,science and technology,historical and cultural changes and other social factors,traditional Tempera techniques and materials are also being explored and innovated,thus experiencing a phase from the dominant position during the flourishing period to being marginalized and then regained importance.However,in recent years,many artists have begun to pay attention to traditional Tempera painting and try to apply the technical language of Tempera to contemporary painting,which has further expanded the creation and market of Tempera,which is necessary for a correct understanding of Western art and exploration of the painting language of Western art.This paper takes the beginning and evolution of traditional Tempera painting creation as the basic lineage,focuses on analyzing the application and development of early Tempera techniques,and provides a deeper understanding of traditional Tempera art through the artists’ creative styles and material techniques,in addition,from the perspective of the inheritance of Tempera techniques in contemporary creation,introduces the relevant creative concepts,improvements and changes,and demonstration steps of authoritative domestic Tempera experts,to In addition,from the perspective of the inheritance of the Tempera technique in contemporary creation,the thesis introduces the philosophy,improvements and changes,and demonstration steps of the authoritative Tempera experts in China,to the personal insights from his own practice,and finally the limitations of contemporary Tempera painting.The focus of this thesis is to analyze how the Tempera technique can be reconstructed in contemporary times,taking the Tempera creations of Chinese and Western artists as a model,and will focus on how to inherit and reconstruct the Tempera technique in the creation of contemporary art,or what qualities of Tempera painting can be used to enrich and develop art. |
