Grain prices are a key factor affecting rural production, rural development and people’s living conditions.Grain is not only a daily necessity but also an important strategic material. The reserve of grain affects the success or failure of the campaign and political stability.Based on the grain price of the "Manchukuo" as the main clue, this paper systematically evaluates and discusses the dynamic index of agricultural production and grain price in the "Manchukuo" from 1932 to 1945.This paper is divided into three modules, the details are as follows:The first module analyzed the situation of grain output and price in the early period of the "Manchukuo".At this time, due to the opening of the northeast region,a large number of Guanzhong residents moved to the northeast to carry out land reclamation and agricultural production activities, which gave full play to the good agricultural development environment. However, during the period of "Manchukuo",agricultural production was affected by Japanese control and showed its volatility and instability through food prices. From 1931 to 1945,the grain price in Northeast China experienced a trend from stable to rising and then to soaring. In the first stage, the grain price was still determined by market supply and demand from 1931 to 1937.Since Japan had not implemented the grain control policy, the grain price was relatively stable. In the second stage, from 1937 to 1941,food prices in Northeast China rose rapidly.Japan invaded China in an all-round way, turning northeastern China into a Japanese military base.In the third stage,1942-1945 was the period when grain prices in Northeast China increased the fastest.During the Pacific War,grain prices in the "Manchukuo" showed a trend of substantial increase due to the implementation of financial control policies and control policies such as grain export to the Netherlands. The second part summarizes the general trend of grain price fluctuation in northeast China during the period of "Manchukuo".Agriculture in Northeast China has long been the dominant position. On the eve of the "Manchukuo",due to the global economic and financial crisis, agricultural production in the late Qing Dynasty was also affected by a serious crisis. In 1931,the puppet government increased investment in spring farming loans, and the grain price in northeast China was relatively stable. However, with the continuous expansion of the war.the agricultural output of our country was hit by unprecedented shock.Japan further controlled agriculture and set up financial institutions, and the puppet Manchukuo’s agricultural finance was on the verge of collapse, reduced to a controlled tool.During the Pacific War,the puppet regime of Japan, the puppet Manchukuo government, strengthened the control of agricultural rights, and the grain production was difficult to supply and the policy forced "the burden",which made the life of farmers in Northeast China miserable. This paper analyzes the internal and external factors that affect the grain price, and discusses the internal factors respectively:the local farmland output, the"Manchukuo" government’s policy of strengthening the rule;External factors:the supply problem of war aggression and the pressure of grain import and export, which led to the frequent bankruptcy phenomenon in northeast rural areas, and the life of farmers was unbearable.Dig into the purpose of the Japanese Manchukuo government to strengthen its rule. The third part mainly evaluates the influence of grain price fluctuation in the period of Puppet Manchuria. The economic transfer of the Manchukuo controlled area became a militarized colonial economy with the interests of the "Greater East Asia Economic circle" as the core. The Japanese puppet government, under the rule by state power means compulsory intervention to economy, financial, material and labor as the main form of "reserved",is a complete "state monopoly economy",is beyond the scope of the national economy can undertake are bound to lead to the puppet manchukuo economic recession resulting in a vicious cycle, eventually led to the colonial countries meltdown. The agricultural control system of the Japanese puppet government was super compulsory, which ensured the demand for food in the Japanese war of aggression, and also led to the economic bankruptcy of the puppet Manchukuo and the people’s lives were miserable. The essence of this system was the exploitation and exploitation brought by the Japanese invasion and expansion. It reveals Japan’s atrocities against China during the war and reflects on how to defend territorial sovereignty and food security in the present era.The study of grain price data has not been generally recognized and adopted by the academic circles, which will provide new ideas and new perspectives for the development of China’s modern history.
