According to the requirements of the new English curriculum standards for elementary school,English writing is a very important content.Especially in the upper grades,English writing has been a weak point for students due to the increase of writing standards and difficulties,and there are still many problems in teaching English writing in elementary school.With the continuous promotion of curriculum reform,more and more attention has been paid to how to improve elementary school students’ English writing,how to stimulate students’ interest in English writing,and how to improve the classroom efficiency of elementary school English writing classes.2021 National Compulsory Education Quality Monitoring Program mentions that the main aspects of the English subject to be monitored include writing and other comprehensive language skills.Therefore,it is necessary to understand the current situation of writing in upper elementary English and improve it so that students’ writing skills can meet the requirements of the curriculum.In this study,we reviewed the relevant literature and interviewed front-line teachers to find that there is a problem of unreasonable teaching mode in upper grade English writing class,the traditional English writing teaching is based on lecture method,teachers only focus on the result of writing,ignore the teaching process of writing,ignore the students’ independent learning and active participation and interest in writing,which makes it difficult for students to improve their English writing performance and ability.Aiming at the present situation of writing teaching above,this study takes the change of teaching mode as the breakthrough point,adopts design-based research,interview,classroom observation,questionnaire survey,action research and other methods,takes the students in Class A,Grade 6 of X Primary School as the research object,and uses the PAD class teaching mode to carry out the writing teaching experiment of senior English in primary schools.The research content is divided into three aspects:First,the construction of PAD class mode in English writing teaching for senior students in primary schools.Second,the experimental design of English writing teaching for senior students in primary schools.Third,the research on the implementation and effect of English writing teaching in senior grades in primary schools.The results show that:First,the PAD class mode of English writing in senior grades in primary schools can improve the writing performance of primary school students.Second,the PAD class mode of senior English writing in primary schools can stimulate primary school students’ interest in writing.Thirdly,the PAD class mode of senior English writing in primary schools can enhance pupils’ enthusiasm for classroom participation and cooperative learning ability.On the basis of practical research,the enlightenment is drawn,and the strategies for optimizing and improving the PAD class mode are summarized in four aspects:First,the PAD class mode requires teachers to have enough organizational and coordination ability.Second,the PAD class mode requires students to actively discuss and cooperate efficiently.Third,the evaluation standard of the PAD class mode should be objective and scientific,and the theory of only fractions should be eliminated.Fourthly,the model of PAD class can be improved by design-based research. |
