| With the rapid development of science and technology,more and more attention has been paid to the translation of teaching texts.The Chinese translation of foreign teaching instructions is of great significance to China’s teaching research.However,the relevant translation is rarely studied from the perspective of functional grammar,and there is less research on the Chinese translation of foreign teaching instructions.Making clear the functional stylistic features and corresponding translation methods of the English text book are of great significance.No matter in the interpretation of such texts or in the study of their translation.Based on Halliday’s systemic functional grammar,this report discusses the methods of English-Chinese translation of English teaching instructions.The material used comes from the English-Chinese translation project.In order to realize the equivalence of the source text and the translation in the three metafunctions,in the process of translation the target language should be adjusted.In the point of realizing the ideational function,this report explores the methods of realizing the stylistic features of the translation,such as accuracy,preciseness and conciseness,through ideational metaphor.First,the English source text should be translated into the consistent form of Chinese and then transformed into a metaphorical form.In order to meet the reading habits of target readers,the translation is rigorous and objective.In the process of translation,the transitivity system is adopted to express the semantics of the source text more accurately and realize the ideational function of the translation better.In addition,there are a large number of passive voice sentences in the source English text.When translating passive sentences,the passive sentences are translated into active sentences in connection with the context and the differences in expression habits between English and Chinese.In the aspect of realizing interpersonal function,we pay attention to the translation of modal verbs,which have different meanings of modal verbs and the interpersonal meaning that the author wants to achieve,so as to ensure the accuracy of modal verb translation.In the aspect of realizing textual function,this report mainly explores the translation methods of realizing textual function in the translation from the perspective of information structure and cohesion and tries to maintain the natural flow of translation information from given information to new information.At the same time,attention is paid to the cohesion between sentences and semantic coherence to better realize the textual function.The translator hopes that the translation methods summarized in this report can provide a useful reference for translation research and translation practice in the future. |
