A Study On The Language Of Place Names In Yuanping City

Place names are the exclusive names agreed by local residents on the natural geographical environment and human geographical environment,which have rich research value.Taking 1125 place names in 18 towns and townships of Yuanping City as the research object,this paper makes a linguistic investigation on Yuanping place names from the three aspects of pronunciation,vocabulary and words,in order to reveal the phonetic characteristics of Yuanping place names,excavate the characteristic word meaning of Yuanping place names,analyze the existing different writing situation of Yuanping place names,so as to provide a better practical basis for historical phonology and ancient sound structure,and provide some new dialect place names materials for modern lexicology research,Provide standardization suggestions for different writing of original place names.The full text consists of five parts.The first chapter is the introduction.Firstly,it briefly introduces the geographical location,historical evolution and dialect of Yuanping City;Secondly,it combs the previous research results of place names,and points out that there are still gaps in the research of place names at present;Finally,it explains the research significance,research methods,innovations,research objects and material sources of this paper.The second chapter is the phonetic study of Yuanping place names.From a diachronic point of view,Yuanping place name retains a large number of ancient sounds,which are the legacy of the historical level of Jinyu Wutai films.From the synchronic point of view,as a part of Jin language,Yuanping place name has a small number of characteristic sounds,which maintains an opposite distinction with the surrounding Mandarin dialects.As a language phenomenon,Yuanping place names are inevitably affected by the front and back syllables,resulting in some special sound changes in the language flow,such as assimilation and weakening.The third chapter is the study of Yuanping place name vocabulary.The analysis from the perspectives of toponymy and linguistics is helpful to excavate the characteristics of Yuanping place names.Among them,the perspective of toponymy includes the study of characteristic general names and characteristic special names,which reflects Yuanping’s unique geographical landform and long cultural history.From the perspective of linguistics,that is,the comparative study of word meaning,this paper compares the word meaning of Yuanping place name with modern Chinese Putonghua,and excavates some special meanings existing only in Yuanping place name.The fourth chapter is the research on the characters of Yuanping place names.Mainly from the textual research and interpretation of this word and different writing.Due to its strong antiquity and more use of dialect spoken language,there are many phenomena of changing words according to sound in Yuanping place names.The textual research and interpretation of this word is conducive to the in-depth study of Yuanping dialect.In addition,there are a large number of mixed words in Yuanping place names,which should be standardized according to the principles of universality,motivation and systematicness.The fifth chapter is the conclusion.Summarize the main conclusions of this paper.
