| Online games are enjoying a period of prosperity in China in the new era.As a form of cultural communication,games have become a popular way of entertainment for more and more people.If domestic games want to go abroad successfully,the role of game localization becomes more and more critical.Among all kinds of online games,the Xianxia game has many Chinese characteristics,which contains traditional Chinese culture and also shows traditional values.The localization of the Xianxia game is an important channel to spread and carry forward Chinese culture.Based on the SWOT theory,this research centers on the localization strategies of the Xianxia game,analyzing the problems in the Xianxia game localization from four aspects: strengths,weaknesses,opportunities,and threats,based on which corresponding localization strategies are proposed.It finally summarizes the major findings and limitations of this study.Through literature research and case studies,the research finds a variety of linguistic,technological,and marketing problems in the localization of the Xianxia game.In response,this study also proposes corresponding countermeasures: paying attention to language accuracy,localization adequacy,and cultural factors in the localization process;redesigning the user interface(UI),using correct file format and font;and strengthening game publicity and game innovation.This research broadens the perspective of translation studies and boosts Chinese culture to go abroad. |
