A Study On The Theme Of "Running Away" In Xu Zechen’s Novels

Xu Zechen,a "post-70s" writer who is the winner of the Mao Dun Literature Award,the theme of "running away" always runs through the creation of his novels.This thesis attempts to take the theme of " running away " as the starting point and take Xu Zechen’s personal experience,novel text,prose,report and interview as the research objects,and comprehensively sort out and analyzes the occurrence of the phenomenon of "running away" in Xu Zechen’s novels,the transfer of space and the reasons for its occurrence,so as to explore the ideological connotation and value meaning conveyed by the theme of " running away " in Xu Zechen’s novels.Firstly,starts with the motives of the characters " running away " in Xu Zechen’s novels,and analyzes runaways in dimensions of age,region and identity,so as to clarify the different goals of each "running away" group.Secondly,analyzes the spatial state of the characters moving from their hometown to the "world" with the help of space theory,it is pointed out that the writer connects the images of "train" and "canal" with "runaway" in a medium way,making them a spatial link and a cultural carrier.Next,analyzes the motivation of the theme of " running away " from factors of the creative subject,social history and social culture,including Xu Zechen’s "compensation" psychology in his growth experience,the educational background he received,and the relationship between the "post-70s" group and the times,the classic " running away" path in the 1980 s and other aspects.Lastly,explores the occurrence,development and causes of the "running away" behavior of the characters in Xu Zechen’s novels on the basis of the previous section,so as to clarify the unique value of the theme of " running away " in Xu Zechen’s novels.Runaways went through "leaving home-returning home-leaving home again",It shows that under the coercion of modernization,"world" is no longer an inherent concept,and its uncertain properties make "running away" lose its direction.So the "running away" in Xu Zechen’s novels was an "unfinished modernity",because what he tries to express is the process of seeking and searching on the road.
