Language is not only a tool for communication between countries, but also the carrier and external expression of each country’s culture. In the process of trade exchanges, language differences play a role similar to trade barriers. With the in-depth development of economic globalization, the competition among countries in the world has intensified in the field of trade, and cultural products have been widely valued by countries due to their low energy consumption and high added value. With the signing of the RCEP agreement, countries have ushered in huge development opportunities for the development of intra-regional cultural product trade. Therefore,in the context of RCEP,it has strong practical significance to explore the impact of the overall level of language differences in various countries on the trade of cultural products.Based on this, this paper constructs language network and three types of cultural product trade network based on complex network analysis method, and analyzes various network indicators. Finally,QAP is used to empirically test the impact of comprehensive language similarity between RCEP countries on the trade of various cultural products. The analysis results show that:(1)Although RCEP countries have established close cultural product trade links, the high-level cultural product trade links between trade parties need to be strengthened, and the regional cultural product trade level is low;(2)The position of RCEP countries in the cultural product trade network can be divided into core countries represented by Singapore,China and Thailand, enterprising countries represented by Vietnam and Indonesia,South Korea,Japan,Australia, robust countries represented by New Zealand and Malaysia and marginal countries represented by the Philippines,Cambodia,Myanmar,Laos and Brunei;(3)Different countries have different advantages in trade networks;(4)The language network has obvious hierarchical characteristics, the Philippines is in the first echelon of the language network, and China belongs to the second echelon in the language network;(5)The comprehensive similarity of languages between countries plays a significant role in promoting the flow trade and trade preference of cultural products, and has a certain degree of hindering effect on the high flow trade of cultural products.According to the research conclusions, the following policy suggestions are put forward:(1)Improve the core language service capabilities of Chinese cultural enterprises;(2)Promote the industrial system reconstruction of language service industry and cultural industry;(3)Adjust the export market strategy of cultural products;(4)Improve the operational capability of the RCEP cultural product trade network;(5)Use digital technology to promote Chinese cultural products.
