Louise Gl(?)ck is one of the most important contemporary American poets and the winner of the 2020 Nobel Prize for literature. In the early stage of poetry creation,Gl(?)ck consciously paid attention to the living state of women and had a keen insight into women’s psychology. Therefore, the theme of women’s growth occupied an important position in her poetry. The author takes the female growth theme of Gl(?)ck’s poetry as the research object, because the women in her works have changed the previous subordinate psychology and weak position, broken various social norms and norms constructed with men as the center, and presented the identity consciousness and value consciousness of equality with men. This paper mainly analyzes the theme of female growth in Louise Gl(?)ck’s poetry from three aspects: family relations, gender relations and cultural reflection. The paper is divided into three chapters. The first chapter mainly analyzes the description of girls’ growth experience in the works from the aspect of family relations. From the perspective of children,Gl(?)ck’s poems express the feelings of girls in their native family life.Girls experience the autocracy of family life, can only play the role of obedience and grow up in an environment of lack of love.In addition, the poet highlights the girl’s self-consciousness from the perspective of adults. The girl is no longer obedient to her parents’ will, but rebellious. However,as the girl grows up and matures, she begins to seek love and understanding among her family. This paper holds that the poet shows that women are constantly deepening their understanding of the relationship between self and family according to the different growth stages of girls. The second chapter mainly analyzes the growth experience of girls from the description of gender.Gl(?)ck’s poems show girls’ understanding of gender relations from the perspective of children. At first, girls felt the unequal gender relationship between their parents from their original family, and their mother was "Aphasia".In addition, the poet highlights the girl’s self-consciousness from the perspective of adults. When girls establish gender relations, she believes that women should break the unequal gender relations, strive for the right to speak and maintain their self subjectivity. This paper holds that according to the different growth stages of girls, the poet shows that women are constantly deepening their understanding of self and gender relations. The third chapter mainly analyzes the description of girls’ growth experience in the works from the social and cultural aspects.Gl(?)ck’s poems show women’s reflection on social culture from the perspective of adults. On the one hand, adult women re-examine human culture and reflect on the origin of mankind. She denies that God is the creator of man and believes that man is his own creator. Therefore, she opposed the authority of God and abandoned the consciousness of original sin.On the other hand, adult women summarize their independent life experience. She reviews her "seven stages of life",takes care of the Poetics of nature, and thinks about the rational relationship between life and death. This paper holds that according to the reflection of adult women on social culture, the poet shows women’s understanding of the relationship between self and society.Gl(?)ck takes women as the writing object, which is launched from her personal experience. In fact, whether women’s poetic care for nature in poetry or the poet’s understanding of women’s growth, these can be regarded as Gl(?)ck’s understanding of the oppressed groups. For a poet full of humanistic care like Gl(?)ck,what she yearns for is that people, people and society, people and nature can be treated equally and live in harmony.
