A Study On The Dialect Vocabulary In The Old Chronicles Of Lüliang Area In Shanx

Local chronicles are historical materials that record the development of local areas,including local construction and evolution,mountain geography,products and custom,local dialects,arts and literature and so on.In many language materials,local Chronicles are the most important documents that can be used.The old local chronicles of Lvliang recorded abundant information about dialects,such as dialect vocabulary,folk vocabulary,products vocabulary,toponym vocabulary.These scattered materials are difficult to collect,so this part of the data has not caused sufficient attention.This paper mainly selected the local Chronicles of Lvliang area before the founding of New China as the research materials.The research object was toponym vocabulary and dialect vocabulary of the Chronicles.Both synchronic description and diachronic comparison had been applied in this article.The thesis was consisted of three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction part introduced the scope and object of the research,relevant research status,research significance and value,research methods and general examples.The main text was divided into three parts,among which dialect vocabulary and place name vocabulary were the main body of the article.Chapter one was the study of dialect vocabulary.First of all,this paper sorted out the general situation of dialect vocabulary materials in the old local chronicles,and introduced the characteristics of interpretation,pronunciation and characters in the materials.Then,it described the classification and word-formation characteristics of dialect words,and focuses on the analysis of kinship appellations.This paper analyzed the "ge(圪)" prefix words,phonetic words and taboo words with examples.Diachronic level,selecting a part of dialect words to trace their origin.Chapter two was the study of the toponym vocabulary.Firstly,the paper summarized the toponym vocabulary materials,introduced some special toponym vocabulary,and analyzed the cultural phenomena reflected by the toponym vocabulary evolution.Then the paper given the explanation of toponym vocabulary from two angles: general name and proper name.The third chapter summarized the pronunciation phenomenon reflected by dialect vocabulary.In the conclusion part,it summarized the characteristics of dialect vocabulary and place-name vocabulary in the old local chronicles,and explained the shortcomings of this study.Generally speaking,the dialect vocabulary and toponym vocabulary all have their own local traits,such as "ge(圪)" prefix words and Sound-divided-words are typical Jin(晋)dialect words.These words retain the features of ancient Chinese,and some characteristics have been used in modern Chinese dialects.
