Register books are documents used for statistics and accounting, which are equivalent to today’s account books and rosters. They are a kind of applied documents. They account for the largest proportion of bamboo slip documents, and their content involves all aspects of social life and culture at that time, such as politics, military affairs, economy, medical care, production, life, etc. In the Western Han Dynasty, there are a large number of military and object nouns in the military and object books and slips.Around these military object nouns,on the one hand,we can explore the word formation rationale of nouns and objects, and on the other hand,we can also research the synonyms of military objects from the chronological analysis and diachronic evolution on the basis of materials.Aiming at the above problems, this thesis carries out research from the following three aspects: in the introduction part, the reason for choosing the topic is expounded, the research materials are introduced, the judgment and segmentation criteria of words are clarified;the research status is analyzed and the research method is explained. The first chapter starts with the overall description, and describes the single-morpheme words, compound words and document idioms in the military and material books and slips of the Western Han Dynasty in detail, and examines the use of common single-morpheme words and compound words in the materials. The second chapter starts with characteristic analysis, summarizes the characteristics of syllables, word meanings, parts of speech and word formation in the vocabulary of military and objects in the Western Han Dynasty, and analyzes the reasons for its formation. The third chapter starts with typical words, and establishes the interpretation of the ambiguous words in the books of military and objects in the Western Han Dynasty. For synonyms in the material, such as "sheng"(绳)and "suo"(索),"jian"(箭)and "shi"(矢),"kai"(铠)and "jia"(甲),"nang"(囊)and "tuo"(橐),"sheng"(乘)and "liang"(两),etc.;and examines the new words and new meanings seen in the materials.Through the description of meanings and the analysis and identification of meanings and elements, the research provides a more detailed interpretation of the nouns of military objects in the Western Han Dynasty.Through the research,it can be seen that the words in the military and objects books and bamboo slips in the Western Han Dynasty were based on the partial formality as the basic way of word formation. The hierarchical relationship of the naming of multiple partial right nouns is related to the angle of the partial morpheme to the right morpheme.Generally,"function","property","characteristic" and "shape" are located at the first level and are closest to the positive morpheme;"color","material" and "size" are located at the second level and are moderately distant from the positive morpheme;"time","belonging to" " is at the third level, the furthest from the positive morpheme. The characteristics of "jian"(箭)and "shi"(矢),"sheng"(乘)and "liang"(两)in the military books are consistent with the overall development trend of words. The characteristics of "sheng"(绳)and "suo"(索),"kai"(铠)and "jia"(甲),"tuo"(橐)and "nang"(囊)are different from the overall development trend of words, which helps the military books to enrich the understanding of the differences in these synonyms at the synchronic level.
