A Study On The Product Words In Local Chronicles Of Yulin, Guangxi From The Qing Dynasty To The Republic Of Chin

Local chronicles,also known as local records,is a local comprehensive local document that records the history of the establishment of a certain administrative area,astronomy,geography,customs and properties,temples,schools,characters,art and other aspects.The subject has important research value for history,social economy,folk customs,language and other disciplines.This article takes the local chronicle product vocabulary in Yulin area of Guangxi from Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China as the research object,analyzes and investigates from the aspects of the word creation method,naming rationale and name exegesis of the local chronicle,and discusses the application value of the dialect research of the local chronicle product vocabulary.The thesis consists of three parts: introduction,main body and conclusion.The introduction part mainly introduces the general situation and the product materials of local chronicles in Yulin area of Guangxi from Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China,the research status of local chronicles’ s product materials,the significance of the research,the research methods of the article,and the description of the text.The text is divided into four chapters.The first chapter summarizes the overall appearance of Yulin’s local chronicles.Firstly,clarifying the meaning of "Product Vocabulary".And the scope of word selection is limited according to the distinction between words and non-words,the semantic standard of product vocabulary and the characteristics of materials,then the research object of the article is determined.Secondly,from the perspective of lexical meaning,the product vocabularies are classified and described,which are mainly divided into four semantic categories: animal words,plant words,mineral words and cargo words.The second chapter investigates the method of word creation of the local chronicles in Yulin.First,it sorts out and summarizes the word-making methods of the product vocabularies from three aspects: grammar,phonetics,and rhetoric.Second,it analyzes explores the reason for the name of the product vocabularies from multiple perspectives such as habits,smell,taste,function and cultural attributes.The third chapter makes a diachronic exploration and exegesis of some of the more distinctive product vocabularies,mainly including:Ban qian(湴钳),Huang Silkworm(黄蚕),Qinlu(琴庐),Tangli(螳里),Jidiao(吉吊),Didantou(地胆头),Fast vegetable(快菜),Five Lianzi(五敛子)and so on.These product words reflect the relevant characteristics of local dialects or the influence of minority languages,but they are either not included in the dialect dictionary,or their definitions are vague.We hope to provide a useful reference for the research and compilation of dialect dictionaries.The fourth chapter explores the application value of product vocabulary to dialect research.In terms of the the compilation of dialect dictionaries,a large number of dialect names of animals and plants in Yulin area are recorded in the local chronicles,which can be supplemented to the dialect dictionary.For the study of dialect phonetics,the other word and word with similar sounds in the product vocabulary can truly reflect the phonetic characteristics of the Yulin dialect at that time.The local chronicles also contain a lot of local vulgar characters,which are helpful to investigate the use of characters in Yulin area.The last part is the conclusion,which briefly summarizes some understandings and deficiencies of the article.
